Camille Bloche

Organ

Camille Bloche, born in Normandy, France, was educated at the music conservatory in Caen, where she received first prizes in piano, chamber music, and organ. She then obtained a Bachelor’s degree in musicology from the Sorbonne University in Paris, an organ diploma from the Caen Conservatory, and a Master’s degree in organ and related keyboard instruments from both the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg.

During her education, Camille studied organ with Erwan Le Prado, Saki Aoki, Daniel Moult, and Hans Davidsson, and clavichord with Ulrika Davidsson. She has also participated in numerous masterclasses and international organ academies (Carentan, Lanvellec, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Leipzig).

Camille Bloche has distinguished herself in several international organ competitions: finalist in Angers 2011, unanimous first prize in Nemours 2011, honorary mention in Miami 2012, and third prize in Dudelange 2013. In 2015, she won the second prize and a special prize for contemporary music at the Biarritz International Organ Competition. She also received the Ellis Ullman Memorial Fund Scholarship in 2019 and the GIOA Young Organ Scholar Award in 2020 for her work and performance of Buxtehude’s free organ works in Codex EB 1688.

Since then, she has regularly performed concerts in Europe (France, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden).

Between 2013 and 2017, she taught piano and organ at the music school in Saint-Lô (France). In 2017-2018, she was the Organ Scholar at Jesus Church in Copenhagen and since 2018, she has been working as an organist at Älvsborg Church in Gothenburg.

Camille Bloche replaced Hans Davidsson during the 2023 festival after he unfortunately had to cancel his participation due to illness.
