Nyckelharpa

Emilia is one of Sweden’s most sought-after folk musicians. There are many significant events on Emilia’s CV. She was the World Champion of the nyckelharpa in 2010, named Artist of the Year at the Swedish Folk & World Music Awards in 2013, nominated for the Swedish Grammis, the Manifest Prize, and Album of the Year at the Swedish Folk & World Awards for “Trollfågeln” in 2013. She has also been doubly nominated for an American Grammy and won a Norwegian Grammy for “In Folk Style” together with the Trondheim Soloists, Gjermund Larsen, and 2L in 2010. She was awarded the NPU Prize (a prize given to a selected Nordic composer each year by all Nordic countries’ composer organizations) in 2013.

Emilia teaches at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, served on the board of the Eric Sahlström Institute (Sweden’s institute for traditional music, song, and dance) from 2009 to 2016, and has been a member of UTOM (Young Thoughts on Music), a think tank for musicians and music producers under 40, since 2018. She composed the commissioned work “Till Reser Anna” for the Västerås Sinfonietta as part of the project “Reflections on Visa från Utanmyra,” and has performed in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Greece, Iran, The Gambia, Namibia, India, the USA, Canada, Brazil, Romania, Italy, the UK, Ireland, China, Poland, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates.
