UmeDuo

Cello / Percussion

UmeDuo has performed in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Iran, Russia, Switzerland, France, Austria, and Germany, premiering works by 14 different composers. They have been invited to festivals including Klang Avantgarde Music Festival Copenhagen, Tehran International Contemporary Music Festival, Festspiele Zürich, ReMusik St Petersburg, Sound of Stockholm, Tage für Neue Musik Zürich, GEIGER in Gothenburg, and Meggenhofen in Austria.

UmeDuo is dedicated to expanding the repertoire for cello and percussion and presenting these works internationally. They have commissioned and premiered works in close collaboration with composers such as Malin Bång, André Chini, Jenny Hettne, Esaias Järnegard (Sweden), Anahita Abbasi, Mehdi Khayami (Iran), Ricardo Eizirik (Brazil), Timothy Salter (United Kingdom), Ulrik Mayer-Spohn (Germany), Teresa Carrasco (Spain), Luke Styles (Australia), Leilei Tian (China), and Elena Rykova (Russia).

As a result of winning the Swedish chamber music competition “Ung & Lovande,” the duo undertook two tours in 2014 and 2015 with 20 concerts throughout Sweden and was selected last year by Park Lane Group to perform at Queen Elizabeth Hall and St Martin-in-the-Fields in London. The duo has studied with Anders Loguin (Stockholm), Thomas Grossenbacher (Zürich), and Mike Svoboda (Basel).

UmeDuo also enjoys giving school concerts and workshops.
