Göran Karlsson

Harpsichord / Conductor

Göran Karlsson is one of Scandinavia’s leading harpsichordists and conductors in early music. He is known for his impeccable sense of style and form, and for his remarkably vibrant and contrasting interpretations – the audience is never left indifferent, they should be inspired and moved.

Göran has performed concerts and conducted opera productions in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Germany, and France, and is a sought-after conductor. His work with the baroque orchestras Ensemble 1700 and Karlsson Baroque has garnered him great attention both nationally and internationally, and his CD recording of Roman’s Drottningholmsmusiken has been praised in the international press.

In addition to his activities as a harpsichordist and conductor, Göran has taught at institutions such as the Music Colleges in Gothenburg and Piteå, as well as at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
