Palle Dahlstedt (b. 1971) is a professor in Interaction Design and Software Engineering at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. In addition to his work there, he is also a composition teacher at the University of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, a freelance composer, and a guest professor at Aalborg University in Denmark.
His research focuses on computer-supported creativity, involving the development of new technologies for musical improvisation and composition, as well as understanding the internal mechanisms of artistic creative processes to make computers behave more creatively.
As a composer and improviser, trained at the music schools in Malmö and Gothenburg, Palle Dahlstedt is highly active. In fact, he primarily identifies himself as a composer.
Frontside has existed since 2019 and is largely driven by volunteer efforts, but we are highly dependent on additional financial sponsors and fundings. All contributions are used to engage fantastic musicians, rents of venues and all other things that make the festival a magical experience.

Our membership register contains information about names and addresses, in some cases also phone numbers and/or email addresses. The register is used only for sending out membership information. The association will not sell or otherwise share personal information with any other party. Upon leaving the association, the information will be deleted and will only remain in the records that we are required to keep for seven years according to accounting laws.
